Wines carrying the above term are wonderfully sweet and syrup-like. They are produced with very ripe grapes which have been dried by the sun and wind or concentrated by the phenomenon known as “noble rot” (botrytis cinereal). Vendanges tardives wine reveal complex flavours of exceptional intensity often evoking candied fruit, honey and spices.
